Childs Play Reviews / Giveaways

Sensory play with ZimpliKids – *Giveaway*

March 14, 2018

We love a good bit of sensory play. It’s great for child development in that it enables your child to explore, discover and learn about their environment and surroundings. It can develop independent and creative thinking, fine and gross motor skills and teach a great deal about the world around us.
But aside from all that… It’s fun! And that is why we are loving exploring a range of products from ZimpliKids.

ZimpliKids have created a host of messy products that are perfect for a sensory play set up and they contacted me to ask if I would like to try them. They also gave me a few extra to host a giveaway for my wonderful readers too. (See below for more on that!)

Gathering bits and bobs to make a swampland

So, as I say, we love any excuse to get the tuff spot out and just recently, we set to work making a dinosaur landscape. Dexter went around the garden cutting off leaves and things and I went in search of the dinosaurs. We mixed up a packet of ZimplyKids green slime to make a swamp. Dexter LOVED it.

Mixing the slime

We didn’t want to make too much mess so we did it in the garden but even though it started to turn cold, he refused to come in and stayed outside playing with it for ages.

Slimy swampy Dino-land

The next one we’ve used is the crackle bath. Once the bath has finished running, simply pour in the sachet and it’s like popping candy. It’s so loud and sounds like fireworks. We used this one to talk about the sounds we heard which was great for language skills and developing both Dexter and Paisley’s vocabulary.

We still have so many to try. Dexter is particularly looking forward to having a snowball fight, especially on a really sunny day! I must admit, I’m very curious about that one too.

These products are great because they are easy to clean away. With the slime, we just washed it away with lots of warm water and it sort of dissolved into nothing.  The crackle baff just completely dissolved in the bath and we didn’t have to do anything with it.

The Gelli Baff (that we haven’t used yet) comes in a sachet that your pour into your bath water and it turns to jelly. Once you’re finished, It has a reversing powder that you pour in and reverses the process turning the jelly back into bath water so that it safely washes away.

Would you like to get your hands on some of these awesome, fun products? I’m giving away 1 x ZimpliKids Glitter Gelli Baff, 1 x Crackle Baff, 1 x Sno Ball Battle pack, and 1 x Gelli Play.
