Remember, remember last years firework mess!!

November 5, 2015

I found some images on my phone this morning of last years firework pictures that Dexter and I did. I’m not sure why I didn’t blog about them before to be honest.
Perhaps it’s something to do with the sheer amount of glitter that covered us, the table the carpets and even the cat.
I ‘helped’ Dexter make firework patterns with the glue, (by that I mean I made the patterns, he ‘helped’ me hold the glue bottle.) Then I opened a few different glitter colours and let him ‘throw them on’
Right there was my mistake really. Although he had fun doing it, it didn’t half make a mess haha. We were more sparkly than that vampire in those books/films. What I should’ve done is put the glitter in little pots and let him pinch it and sprinkle. I added a few gold star sequin bits to the Catherine wheel one and then shook off the loose bits. We left it to dry and tadaaaaaaa!
Dexter was only 17 months at the time so I was probably asking a bit much from him with this task but it was good fun. fireworkspic2014

This year, we’ve opted for letting pre-school have the mess so Dexter has come home with this. From what I can tell they’ve done exactly what I was going to do with him. I even listed it as number 42 on my list of 64 things to do this autumn but they seem to have spared my living room of the glitter.Fireworks art 2015

I’ve been reliably informed they also made a guy with clothes from a charity shop and they stuffed him full of newspaper, however I haven’t seen this to confirm.
I’m working this evening so we won’t be seeing any fireworks but maybe we’ll have a drive around tomorrow or Saturday night and find a good spot to watch some from.

What do you all have planned for fireworks?
Oh, that reminds me, I must get some hotdogs bits on the shopping. Have a fun weekend everyone!

Good call letting preschool deal with the mess this year! The pictures are really great though, I think it was worth the mess (but then again, I didn’t have to clear it up!) Becky x #ThrowbackThursday

Yeah to be fair, it was totally worth the mess and we actually did a similar picture on saturday with his cousin so we still got to do it again.
