Two new retailers have been announced for the old BHS unit in Queensgate. The unit, which has stood empty since BHS closed last summer will now be home to Joules Clothing and Smiggle, Queensgate has announced in the following press release today.
SECOND RETAILER CONFIRMED FOR QUEENSGATE’S BHS UNIT
Following the recent announcement that Joules clothing will take part of the empty BHS unit in Queensgate Shopping Centre, management can confirm creative stationery retailer, Smiggle will take another part. Both are expected to open before Christmas and bring a new and exciting feel to Queensgate’s Central Square. Specific details are yet to be confirmed but will be announced in due course.
“We’re very excited to welcome Smiggle to Queensgate, which we know has become a hugely popular brand across the world and well-known for its bright, bold and creative products,” says Mark Broadhead, Centre Director at Queensgate.
Smiggle offers fashion-forward stationery including, bags, pencil cases, pens, gadgets, books, games, and accessories. The Australian brand launched in 2003 and has stores in seven countries across the globe, including over 100 in the UK.
Queensgate Shopping Centre was opened in the early 1980’s and is located in the heart of Peterborough. It is home to over 90 retail outlets that attract approximately 16 million people each year from local and regional areas. Its anchor stores are John Lewis and Primark. Other recent additions to the shopping centre include MAC Cosmetics, Ann Summers, Argento, New Look and Turtle Bay.
