I’ve recently watched the new Marie Kondo series on Netflix and it inspired me to start sorting through my clothes to get them a bit more organised – and of course, get rid of what I don’t wear… But when she said only keep what sparks joy… Well, I was a bit flummoxed. You see, none of my clothes spark joy. I have some that are comfy and the odd item that I like but very little that falls into the category of ‘this is comfortable, I really feel good wearing it and it makes me happy’
So I looked up capsule wardrobes, thinking if I had a few nice items I could mix and match then I could get rid of a lot of crap and then start with some nice basics. Around the same time, an email arrived in my inbox asking if I would like to try out and review some items from Fashion World – an online clothing store… So I had a browse, replied and they sent me some items…
I needed a new pair of jeans, so they were first on the list. High waisted was a must after a c-section gave me that ‘forever hang over pouch’ and all of my current jeans were straight cut or skinny so I opted for a boot cut jean.
I also wanted a smart-ish pair of trousers for occasions where jeans aren’t really ideal. I liked the look of these and figured I could dress them up or down.
Country music has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember so I instantly fell in love with this western style shirt which can be worn underneath a top to show off the smart collar, worn alone with jeans or even worn open with a vest top underneath
I’ve seen so many rainbow stripes around lately and they are always so bright and cheerful so I wanted a top that would make me smile and that would be my go-to top. This t-shirt ticked all those boxes. It came in a pack of 2 so I have a matching plain blue one but honestly, I chose it just for the rainbow stripes, the blue one was just a bonus
Lastly, I chose this lovely
All of these clothes were gifted to me for the purposes of this post and I would like to thank fashion World for coming to my rescue and sorting out my dire wardrobe. The stripey t-shirt has been almost lived in since I got it and often gets comments
