Back in the autumn, I was invited along to Hotter shoes to have my feet measured by Prince Charming and select a pair of shoes from the Autumn/Winter Range.
Well, the Hotter Shoes SS18 Range is now out and I was invited back to choose another pair… but this time, Liam was invited along too for so we could enjoy a his and hers fitting!
Liam had already had a look online and had an idea of what he liked so he went first. He selected a few styles and colours and Jade helpfully guided him around the different materials and fits. He had originally planned on getting a new pair of shoes for work but after trying on a few pairs, he found Thor to be really comfortable and could see himself doing a fair amount of walking in them. Liam chose the chocolate colour but unfortunately, they didn’t have them in stock in his size but Jade was able to order them in and get them delivered to our home. They arrived less than a week later and were delivered by Hermes.
While Liam was having fun trying on the range of men’s shoes, I was taking my time having a good look at the women’s section. Previously, I’d been given the impression that Hotter was more for the older generation but browsing the SS18 styles on offer, they are much more fashionable than I’d previously believed.
Like Liam, I had looked online before arriving at the store and I’d quite like the look of ‘Mabel’ – a nice lightweight casual shoe, perfect for the summer. It comes in many different colourways and patterns. I especially liked the denim. But as I pretty much live in my jeans, I thought that might be a bit too much denim going on. Jade and Liam agreed so I tried on some others.
After much deliberation, I chose ‘Daisy’ in a sort of blush pink/salmon colour. They are super comfy and fit really well. With these, I took away a size 6.5 but with the boots I got last year, I took a size 7. The boots have room then for wearing thicker socks but the ‘Daisy’ is ideal for wearing thin trainer socks or barefoot in the summer. (If you don’t have a Hotter store nearby, you can use a size guide like this one and order online.)
Jade and the rest of the staff were very knowledgeable about the brand. They knew the shoes inside out and were able to tell us many of the features such as some of the styles having removable insoles, suitable for cleaning or for making into wider fitting shoes. Hotter shoes are British made and we were also shown the cleaning and care range that they stock and advised how to care for our new shoes.
Both times I have visited Hotter, I have had a very pleasant experience and have come away very satisfied in the choices I’ve made and the comfort of the shoes. I will most definitely be returning in the summer to pick a pair for a friends wedding as I can be sure they will be both comfy and stylish.
