Friday Phone Dump – The revival (25th-31st Aug)

September 1, 2017

I’m bringing back the Friday phone dump. I wont be running it as a linky. I’ve never had much success with those but I feel like this is my blog, a place where I share my day to day stuff and yet, I don’t actually do that as much as I used to. The idea of the Friday Phone Dump is pretty much exactly what you would expect. I take lots of ‘unpretty’ or ‘not worthy of instagram’ photos on my phone. Pictures that if you follow the rules (Ha! Me?) shouldn’t be in a blog post. But the way I see it is those pictures are real. Those pictures are what I/the kids/the house look like everyday and why shouldn’t I share them? Why should I only show the pictures where I’ve cropped out the mess?
An example of this is in the Chicco Next2Me Dream Review – in that review there is a picture of Bridget in the crib and my bedroom looks like a tidy, grown up bedroom. What you cant see, is that I only made that corner of my bed, the rest of the bed is covered in laundry and my bedroom is actually so small that where ever you out anything , it’s instantly cluttered and messy.

So anyway, as long as I remember, I will be doing a Friday Phone Dump each week that will just give you a little glimpse into what we’ve been up to. The real us, in our real lives. Not the instagram us. (And you can’t tell me that you don’t pretty things up for instagram!)

Friday Phone Dump 25th-31st Aug

Well, let’s start with Bridget. Love her!  She’s 11 weeks old now as of yesterday and is getting very generous with her smiles. She reaches out and touches my face and grabs my hair and her eyes just melt me. This croc sleepsuit was the first thing I bought when I knew I was pregnant again. I just loved the brightness of it and I’m not afraid to tell you I got it from a charity shop for just £1

We went to Liam’s Aunts house over the weekend for a bbq and it was Didge’s first time visiting. It was a lovley evening and I even had  a bit of a play on iMovie. I debated including this as but it’s a ‘phone dump’ and was all filmed on my phone so here it is.

Beautiful isn’t it? Well I think it is. It makes me a bit emotional.

Over the Bank Holiday we had a bit of a garden tidy up. We found all kinds of bugs, at least a thousand spiders and a fair bit of cat poo. The highlight of the day as far as the kids were concerned was most definitely the hose pipe. You can’t beat giving your siblings (and parents) an absolute soaking, no matter how many times you’re told “JUST THE PLANTS!”

I managed to snap this corker of a smile from both Dexter and Bridget at the same time this week so it just had to be included. Getting Dexter to smile naturally lately is no mean feat. He does that thing that all kids go through where as soon as you ask him to smile for a photo, he’s doing all sorts of crazy hand movements, his eyes look like they’ll pop out of his skull, his mouth goes all funny. I mean, what is that? So candids are my photo of choice lately and I just love this one. First born and last born together. Doesn’t Didge look like a little pudding! (and a mini Paisley)
And then finally for this week is this one of Dexter. He’s not quite tall enough to get on the swing on his own and actually swing himself. I suggested he get the step out of the toilet and left him to it. He called me out the see him with such pride when he managed to reach enough to get on the swing himself. He was so happy and told me how he had kept trying and trying and then he did it. Such a cutie!
So how’s your week been? Let me know in the comments!

I love this idea! Feels good to be real with your readers! My Instagram still look pretty real, I guess I don’t have the skill yet to perfect and make all the pictures flow together and have a similar colour scheme! It’s just our life! ❤️

Thank you. My instagram definitely doesn’t follow a theme hahaha but I do tend to crop the mess out of the backgrounds where possible

Awesome post! I’ve mostly been coughing and sneezing my head off and trying not to pass it on to the baby. He’s 18 weeks and I feel rotten and would hate him to feel like this. Love your charity shop find! It’s very cute!!

Love this post. I had to wipe some dust off my bedside table last night to take a pic. There’s dust everywhere else though!

Aww that would be awesome if you did, thank you. If I get enough interest I might bring back the linky but I never get much interaction in them. We’ll see how it goes. Cant wait to keep up with yours

I love these photos – I prefer real photos than ones that have been edited and posed
