Father’s Day Gift Guide | Gifts for Men

May 24, 2019

Father’s Day is upon us again, with June 16th 2019 being a day dedicated to all of the dads out there in the world. Every man is different, and it is important to tailor your gift to whoever is receiving, whether this be a father, grandfather, or partner. Dads can be tricky to buy for, which is why I have taken time to put together a list full of plenty of gift ideas for you to choose from! It’s time to trade in buying the same pair of socks every year for something more personal and inspiring. With just under a month to go until Father’s Day, it is time to get prepared. Rather than falling victim to panic buying at the last minute, take the time to research and find something that suits your gift receiver perfectly. From aftershave to whiskey, here are just some of the gifts all father’s want.
Some of the items listed below were sent to us for inclusion in this guide – I have marked them with *

Gifts for Fathers

Razors

For the clean-shaven guy in your life, why not consider getting them a luxurious razor? Most men have a typical plastic razor, and although these work well, nothing feels quite the same as using a specially made metal razor. Liam has had a safety razor for years and the blades are so cheap to replace. He’d never switch to a disposable. Safety razors are fantastic for the feel of a traditional straight razor shave in a modern form. The English Shaving Company have a variety of razors to choose from with a price to suit everybody’s budget. For an extra special gift, you could opt for a shaving set, which comes with extra shaving goodies.

Aftershave

Aftershave is a great gift to get for the dads in your life. Aftershaves vary greatly for men – from sensitive balms and lotions with great moisturising properties, with a splash of delicious scent and antibacterial effects. There is an aftershave out there for every man, you just have to find the scent and type that you feel suits best. For a more traditional aftershave, opt for splashes and lotions, or for someone with sensitive skin go for a sensitive balm. You can even get the bottle engraved to make it that little bit extra special like this one from the Engravers Guild.

Alcohol

Everybody loves a delicious alcoholic drink, though sometimes the best ones can be a little bit more on the pricey side. This makes father’s day the perfect time to treat the special guy to his favourite drink, whether that be whisky, beer, gin or bourbon, there’s a delicious drink out there for everyone. You could even sign them up to a special alcoholic drink subscription like Flavourly, where they send you a drink to try every month! The gift that keeps on giving.

Treats

Everybody has a special treat that they love, whether it be chocolates, sweets or something savoury. For Father’s Day why not make a hamper of all of your gift receivers favourite treats? This way you’re giving them lots of things they love and putting extra thought into it by making it into a hamper. For an extra special touch, create a personalised, homemade card to go in the basket.

Why not consider these from Jelly Belly *- a great gift for children treating their very own superhero!

Or for something completely different, this chocolate wrench looks remarkably like the real thing. One of many gifts for vegans from Yumbles*. Perfect for the handyman in your life.

Clothing

I love this comfy looking lounge set from Ada and Alfred!

Of course, if you are looking for something more traditional, there is always room for socks and ties and there are ways to make those traditional gifts a bit more special. These Ted Baker* socks are a soft cotton blend and presented in a smart gift box so if the man in your life is a ‘gift squidger’, it will throw him right off.

Ties are a great option if he works in an office or ‘smart’ environment. Why not choose one that shows the love for his team with these themed football ties*.

Tech

One thing that Liam has been after for a while is a dash cam. Not being a driver myself, I’ve never had reason to look into them but he had his mind made up on this one from NextBase* which is an affordable option but also has the which Best Buy recommendation

Always on the go? This funky gadget from Zippo* is a phone charger but also a hand warmer. Liam actually works in a zero degrees warehouse so his phone battery drains really fast in the cold so having something that can both charge his phones and warm him up is pretty clever if you ask me!

Hobbies

For a more personal gift, think about their hobbies and perhaps tailor a gift to their interests. A day out clay pigeon shooting perhaps? Maybe a racing experience or a distillery tour? There are lots of options available from Buy A Gift* so you’ll be able to find something for everyone.

Puzzles and games make a good option for something calming that you can share together and is a great way of cutting down screen time. These unique puzzles from Wasgij* are sure to challenge your brain muscles and get the whole family involved.

Another option for a personal gift is to have something engraved with a special message or a date of significance. I adore this star map from GreaterSkies that we have hanging in our bedroom. It shows a map of the stars over London on the date we got married. You can choose the date (and time of required) and even add a quote of your choice too.

A card

Of course, you’ll need a greetings card.
Sure, you could pick one up last minute from Tesco when you grab your shopping, but if you want something a bit different, these from Love Layla* are brilliantly funny! There are so many options available for all occasions and all full of wit or sarcasm.
