Christmas Gift Guide for Babies

December 2, 2018

Babies change so much so quickly and buying gifts for their age range often means that in a few months time, that gift is no longer needed because they’ve grown out of it or it was to teach them a skill that they’ve now learnt. If your baby’s birthday is close to Christmas too, it makes it even more awkward because they’ll get all their gifts at one half of the year – So I’ve put together a range of products that will be suitable at some point in the first 12 months – Most of these gifts, I have used myself too so can personally vouch for them.

The Summer Infant Pop n Jump

We had a Jumperoo when Paisley was little and she loved being in it but it was so big and bulky in our little living room, it just took over. Not only that, it was noisy and very plasticky. It did its job but honestly, I just didn’t like it at all.
What we had for Bridget was much better. The Pop and Jump from Summer Infant was small, quiet and didn’t require any batteries as there were no noisy bits or flashy lights but was still perfectly entertaining. Plus, when not in use, it couldbe folded very easily to stand in the corner of the room.

One of my favourite things that Dexter, Paisley and Bridget have received were hand crochet blankets, made by Gemma at Woolly Creations. Gemma makes such lovely blankets and they really are a high quality. They wash well and are so soft, I would recommend them to everyone. We often get asked where we got them from when out and about. An absolute perfect baby gift and they can be made to any colour schemes with plenty of patterns to choose from.
You can message her for a chat and discuss designs on her Facebook page(above).

Teething Jewellery.

I’ve had a couple of teething necklaces and a bracelet over the last few years and they’ve been invaluable. Not just for when the girls were teething but also when breastfeeding, they had something to fiddle with.

Teething gift set from Apples & Pips

Apples and Pips has combined teething jewellery with a few other items to make that teething process a little easier for you and your baby.
With three different options available, these make lovely gifts for both mother and baby.

This year we have got Bridget this Chicco Animal Cottage that we were sent from Kiddies Kingdom It comes with a set of keys with different shaped ends to open the various doors and offers a shape sorting element too. We can use this to help her hand-eye coordination, teach colours and shapes, and she’s going to love carrying around a set of keys

Another toy that we have aside for Bridget is the Musical Activity Cube from Smyths Toys. I reviewed this one quite recently and she really enjoyed playing with it, as did her Big sister Paisley, however she is young enough to have not noticed that its now been hidden away until Christmas. I thought this one, in particular, was a great one for helping her STEAM development. To see what I mean you can check out the post Teaching STEAM with the Musical Activity Cube here

Bath time.

This Child Farm set makes a lovely gift for any baby. The packaging is lovely and the items smell wonderful. This box set contains baby bedtime bubbles, baby wash and baby moisturiser – with a helpful bedtime routine leaflet included

What’s more is that all Childs Farm products are put through extensive tests to make sure everyone can use them – even those with sensitive and eczema-prone skin. The full range of products is available at and most supermarkets in the baby bath aisle.

Something to wear

I’m totally loving this vest from Ada and Alfred right now. Milk and Mayhem is exactly how those baby years go and Bridget would look so cute in it. 100% cotton with a cute font, this vest is £12 and you can get it here

So those are my top picks for baby gifts this Christmas. I’ve tried to keep it varied so that there is something for everyone so hopefully you’ll find something here. Do let me know if you decided to purchase something from this list, it would be great to hear from you.

Merry Christmas
