Well! What a year it’s been so far! I’m very much looking forward to getting a bit of normality back. Part of that normality will be getting the kids back to school. I can’t tell you how much I miss doing school runs every morning.
One of the most normal things we’ve done recently is picking out school shoes – Albeit online. With Dexter starting a new junior school and Paisley starting in reception, I want them both to start the new school year looking smart, comfortable and ready to learn.
One of the things Dexter has learnt over the lockdown period is how to tie laces, so when we were picking some shoes for him, laces were high on his list of priorities. All of the Treads shoes online look super smart so there were plenty of choices. In the end, he went with Boston.
I was worried that we might not get the right fit with them being online only and not being able to try them on – however, Treads have a brilliant printable measuring guide so that you can be sure you’re getting the right size. Each pair of shoes also comes with a removable layer inside the shoe so that if your child has wider feet, you can simply remove the under layer for a much better fit.
Paisley chose some lovely smart looking shoes with a T-bar detail called Adelaide. She was really impressed to find they had a sort of snowflake pattern on the bottom as shes a HUGE frozen fan. She can’t wait to show her new teachers.
Both pairs of shoes seem really robust. They come with a 12-month indestructible guarantee and they are made of a breathable waterproof leather so I’m hopeful they will stand up to whatever my crazy kids throw at them. They look like they’ll be easy to keep clean, too.
Once September rolls around, I plan to come and update this review and see how we’re getting on with both pairs.
The generous people at Treads would like to help someone else take the stress out of school shoe shopping and they have allowed me to run a giveaway for one pair of Treads school shoes. You can enter using the rafflecopter form below. Good luck and all the best for your new school year
